Pilot assignment schemes for Massive MIMO systems
– cooperated with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. Oct. 2012 - Apr. 2013
-
Analysed the pilot assignment problem in multi-cell multi-user massive MIMO systems to alleviate the inter-cell interference (pilot contamination).
-
Proposed three low-complexity pilot assignment algorithms, including the greedy algorithm, the tabu search algorithm and the greedy tabu search algorithm to enhance system sum rates with low complexity.
Spatial orthogonality-based pilot reuse for Massive MIMO transmission Apr. 2013 - Jul. 2013
-
Formulated the close-form expression of the non-asymptotic DL achievable rate by exploiting the second-order channel statistical information.
-
Presented the spatial orthogonality condition for inter-cell pilot reuse without rate loss.
-
Proposed a spatial orthogonality-based greedy pilot assignment algorithm to improve system sum rate performance.
Antenna selection for Multi-user Massive MIMO system
– cooperated with Pro. Yindi Jing, Albert University Jul. 2013 - Apri. 2014
-
Analysed the BS antenna selection and user scheduling problem for Multi-user Massive MIMO systems by exploiting instantaneous or statistical channel state information to reduce the hardware complexity and cost.
-
Designed four antenna selection and user scheduling algorithms, including the rate-based descending antenna selection, the rate based ascending antenna selection, joint transmit and receive antenna selection, and distributed transmit and receive antenna selection.
